:::    Technology Integration    :::

Our college and university provides outstanding support for instructors looking to integrate technology into the classroom. One way I've utllized this resource is by creating assignments where students develop video-based projects as class assignments.   To review examples, click here.

I have also developed 3 different web-based, interactive projects that have been used in my classes and additional settings. The first project marketed by Brooks/Cole Thompson Publishing allows students to conceptualize cases from a range of different theoretical perspectives. Users can review sections from clinical interviews and then send conceptualizations to other students or their instructor through the website. After submitting their response, students can review how a specialist representing the selected theoretical approach responded to these questions. This website is currently being packaged with several counseling theories textbooks including the top-selling "Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy" by Gerald Corey.

The second project sponsored and marketed by Prentice Hall, involves a set of learning materials including a website and an edited book entitled "Applying Counseling Theories."    Students using the website will have the opportunity to read case material, watch videos, submit conceptualizations electronically, and review expert responses.

The third project was developed in colaboration with Dr. Stephanie Rude. This website enables users to read and watch five different clinical interviews. Students can then practice their diagnostic skills on a wide range of clinical disorders. This website can be reviewed at no charge, here.

I'm currently collaborating with Dr. Chris McCarthy on a fourth project for his Helping Skills course.  This project will enable users to practice their beginning counseling skills on a diverse set of practice clients. This highly interactive website will allow users to listen to and respond to clients. Instructors will then have the opportunity to acess these recorded helping skills (e.g., restatements, reflections of feelings, etc. ) via a database and provide student feedback. Further, users will also have the opportunity to listen to how experienced therapists responded to the client statements.

The flash introduction for this project can be reviewed, here:
